摘要

Several developments in the past few years have led to the increasing use of real-time x-ray systems for Non-Destructive Evaluation of products. One factor has been the improved capabilities of x-ray generators and of the cameras which convert the x-ray image to a video signal. Another consideration has been the increased cost of x-ray film. Perhaps the most important development, however, will turn out to be the availability of reasonably priced, real-time, video rate digital image processing systems. At the present time this equipment is considered an important though often optional component in many real-time systems; however, as the capabilities of this equipment become more widely appreciated and as performance expands while becoming less expensive it is reasonable to project that it will come to be regarded as a standard part of most real-time x-ray systems.
